The observation at the funeral home in Sungai Pinang 2 Village, Sungai Pinang District, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra, saw residents arrive to celebrate “yasinan” and pray together.
Guided by religious figures, the recitation of surah yasin took place in the presence of the local village chiefs.
To Sungai Pinang 2 Village, Herman Sawiran, who is also the Indah Halima Putri family, said that tonight the family deliberately did not celebrate thahlilan because they still expected a miracle.
The family hopes that Indah, her husband, her children, her in-laws and her husband’s nephews are safe.
Even if Indah and her family are the victims of death, Herman hopes her body can be found and brought to Sungai Pinang 2 village for burial.
“In fact, tonight we do not give Thai or condolences as is done if there is a returning family, we only do recitation of surah yasin and prayers together to ask for the miracle of Indah and her family found safe,” Herman said.
