JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Divers combined with the Air and Air Police (Polirud) evacuated parts of the fuselage and limbs that were thought to belong to the passengers of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 on the Jakarta-Pontianak route.
Dirpolair Korpolairud Baharkam Polri, Police Brigadier General Mohammad Yassin Kosasih said the discovery of a human hand was found by a joint diver who had been searching since Sunday (1/10/2021) morning. There is a hand that is believed to belong to an adult.
“This afternoon we again found a fragment of the fuselage and a piece of hand that was no longer intact. This human hand was thought to belong to an adult,” Yasin said in a written statement Sunday.

Yassin said the findings would be taken to Kramat Jati Police Hospital for a forensic examination.
Yassin said his men and related parties were still searching for the plane and the victims.
“We continue to move. Hopefully there are more discoveries of the fuselage or the belongings of the victims. The divers are in reserve boats at points near the accident site,” he explained.
The Sriwijaya Air SJ 182 plane for the Jakarta-Pontianak route crashed on Saturday afternoon around 2:40 p.m. WIB in the waters of the Thousand Islands, Jakarta. The plane was carrying 56 passengers consisting of 46 adults, 7 children, and 3 babies. In addition there are 6 crew members.
