NTSC checks the location of the crash site of the Sriwijaya Air SJ182 plane this morning

The National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) confirmed that it had secured the location of the Sriwijaya Air SJ182 plane crash in the waters of the Thousand Islands, north of Jakarta. The NTSC will inspect the crash site of the plane this morning.

“The point is already, my friends are on the point, Basarnas is done. So tomorrow (this morning, red) KNKT will carry out a survey on what kind of water conditions are there,” said the head of the NTSC, Soerjanto Tjahjono, to journalists at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, on Saturday (9/1/2021).

Soerjanto said his group would conduct a survey to find out the terrain of the location. In addition, the verification also serves to determine the tools used during the search process.

“What is the depth and what tools will we lower it and if there are corals there or not, then tomorrow we will carry out the survey, what kind of conditions are there at the scene of the incident,” he said.
