The head of the National Police forms a special team after Komnas HAM discovers the death of FPI Laskar

The Chief of the National Police, General Idham Azis, formed a special team to follow up on the findings of Komnas HAM in the case of the death of FPI troops at Km 50 of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road. The team consists of Bareskrim, Divkum and Divpropam Polri.

“The Chief of the National Police, General Idham Azis, responded by instructing the formation of a special team (Bareskrim Polri, Police Legal Division and Police Propam Division) to follow up on the Komnas HAM findings,” said the Chief from the Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Argo Yuwono in a written statement on Friday (1/8/2021).

The National Police said that the special team that was created would function optimally. The National Police, Argo said, will professionally and openly investigate the Polri members involved in the case.

“Of course, this Task Force will work optimally, professionally and openly in investigating individual police officers related to the case,” he said.

Previously, Komnas HAM explained the results of the investigation into the incident of the death of FPI laskar on November 27, 2020. Consequently, Komnas HAM declared the death of FPI laskar as a violation of human rights.

Initially, Komnas HAM explained the evidence they obtained from the findings in the field, voice note, until screenshot CCTV. Komnas HAM has also inspected the police, the families of the victims, the FPI and the witnesses at the scene. Komnas HAM also called several members.
