The Inter Milan midfielder committed a reckless foul that earned Crotone a penalty in the club’s final game.
Former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta said that Arturo Vidal did not realize that his physical condition was not as good as when he was young, so he committed a fatal foul that almost threw the victory of his team.
As is known, the Chilean player made a late entry into the penalty area that penalized Inter Milan. The referee actually missed the moment, but the VAR’s intervention made the court clearer and he awarded Crotone a penalty.
Inter managed to give the game 2-1 after falling behind in a quick goal for the visitors, but the penalty forced the first half to end in a 2-2 draw.
Vidal finally retired at halftime and luckily the Nerazzurri were fierce in the second half with four goals to seal a 6-2 win.
However, Vidal’s incident in the first half attracted a lot of attention, Sky Sport Italia Costacurta gave his opinion on it.
“I think he is not physically well and the offense shows it,” Costacurta said. “He thought he was fine at 33, the truth is that he didn’t get the ball at the right time.
“I couldn’t do tackles like that when he was his age, but it hit me.”
Inter have achieved their eighth consecutive victory in Serie A after beating Crotone and are just one point behind the Rossoneri.
