Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

The former Lawyers Team of the Islamic Defenders Front (REIT) Aziz Yanuar said that one of the FPI’s accounts was frozen after the government officially banned the organization on December 30, 2020.

“Yes [dibekukan rekening atas nama FPI], the number is one [rekening]”Aziz said to CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (4/1).

Aziz revealed that there was a nominal amount of around tens of million rupees in the frozen account.

He admitted that his party had not been able to withdraw money from the frozen account since Wednesday (12/30) last week. He also suspected that lately irresponsible people had stolen the money.

“Tens of millions have been harassed, he’s quick when it comes to cheating money,” he said.

CNNIndonesia.com I am already trying to contact the Chief of Public Relations of the Police Headquarters, Inspector General Argo Yuwono for confirmation on this matter. However, the interested party did not respond until this news was revealed.

The government officially designated FPI as a prohibited organization based on the Joint Decree (SKB) of six heads of state ministries / institutions on Wednesday (12/30).

The decree also regulates the prohibition of activities and the use of the FPI symbol in all parts of Indonesia. Law enforcement officials will take action against all activities that still use the FPI symbol.

The government argues that the dissolution of the FPI was carried out by the participation of members of the FPI in acts of terrorism, radical actions and ideological issues.

However, several former FPI officials declared the establishment of a new organization, namely the Islamic United Front, the same day after the dissolution of the FPI.
