One of the points raised by the head of the National Police, General Idham Azis, about the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) has generated criticism. The National Police also responded to the controversy.
As is known, the Chief of Police Information Mak / 1 / I / 2021 on Compliance with the Prohibition of Activities, Use of Symbols and Attributes, as well as the Cessation of Activities of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) was pressured by Idham Azis on Friday (1/1/2021).

1. Whereas, on the basis of the Joint Decree of the Minister of the Interior, the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, the Minister of Information and Communication Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia, the Head of the Indonesian National Police and the Head of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency Number 220-4780 of 2020; M.HH 14.HH.05.05 Year 2020; 690 of 2020; 264 of 2020; KB / 3 / XII / 2020; 320 of 2020 dated December 30, 2020 regarding the prohibition of activities, the use of symbols and attributes and the termination of activities of the Islamic Defenders Front.
2. In order to provide protection and guarantee the peace and security of the community after the joint decision on the prohibition of activities, the use of symbols and attributes and the cessation of activities of the Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI), by the that the Chief of the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia issues information;
to. The community does not participate directly or indirectly in the support and facilitation of activities or in the use of symbols and attributes of the FPI;
second. The public immediately informs the authorities when it finds the activities, symbols and attributes of the FPI and does not commit any illegal action;
C. Prioritize Satpol PP with full support from TNI-POLRI to enforce control at locations that have banners / placards, attributes, brochures and other FPI related issues installed; and
re. The public does not access, upload, or broadcast FPI-related content through websites or social media.
3. That if an act contrary to this information is determined, then each member of the Police must take the necessary actions in accordance with the provisions of the law, or the discretion of the Police.
4. Therefore, this information must be taken care of and implemented as it should be.
However, this announcement has drawn criticism, one of which comes from the press community. The highlight is point 2d, which contains ‘People do not access, upload or disseminate FPI-related content via websites or social media’.
