KOMPAS.com – Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola praised his team’s performance as they beat Chelsea 3-1 in the Premier League’s top competition on Sunday (3/1/2021).
In the Chelsea vs Man City match, Guardiola assessed that his team had successfully returned to the pattern and rhythm of the game, such as when it won successive Premier League titles in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019.
Man City’s dominance and effectiveness of finishing chances, especially in the first half, saw Chelsea suffer the second defeat in their last three Premier League matches.

“The way we play today is the reason we won the title, we played with more patience and we took risks at the right time,” he said.
These results also see Man City win its third consecutive Premier League event, or the fifth of the last seven league games.
Three goals from The Citizens, nicknamed Man City, in this match occurred in the first 35 minutes of the match created by Ilkay Guendogan, Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne.

Guardiola admitted that he was disappointed that his team had conceded late in the match, despite the top results his team received on this visit to Stamford Bridge Stadium.
A major victory against a strong team like Chelsea, according to Guardiola, is expected to be the impetus for his team to compete again for the league title this season.
“Hopefully when the Premier League has six or seven weeks of play left, we will be in a position to fight for the title,” he said.
“Given the strange situation that is happening in the Premier League right now, we just have to focus on the game and try to relax off the field,” he said.
