TNI troops participate in surveillance of Habib Rizieq’s pre-trial hearing,

jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Joint staff were deployed around the South Jakarta District Court on Monday (4/1) to secure the trial for the pre-trial lawsuit brought by Habib Rizieq Shihab on the decision of police investigators to determine and detain him as suspect and arrest Habib Rizieq Shihab.

The head of the National Police’s Public Relations Division, Inspector General Prabowo Argo Yuwono, said 1,610 joint staff members would be deployed to secure the first trial.

“A total of 1,610 joint TNI, Polri and Pemda staff members are on standby to secure the pre-trial hearing tomorrow at the South Jakarta District Court,” Argo told reporters on Sunday (3/1).

Security, Argo said, began at the trial site to regulate the flow of traffic around the South Jakarta District Court.

“Safety starts from the location of the test to the provision of the direct route,” added Argo.

The South Jakarta District Court has scheduled a trial for the reading of the pre-trial application filed by Rizieq Shihab’s attorney on Monday, January 4 at 09:00 WIB.

The court has also appointed a single judge to preside over the proceedings.

“The judge is Pak Akhmad Sahyuti, the registrar replacing Agustinus Endri,” said the Head of Public Relations of the South Jakarta District Court, Suharno.
