Distribution
Asep said there will be 10 million cash welfare recipients this year.
BST distribution is done by shipping directly to the recipient through the postal mechanism.
“BST is distributed to KPM through the POS mechanism,” he explained.
In addition to BST, the government will also distribute two other social assistance programs, namely the Family Hope Program (PKH) and the basic food programs.
In total, there are about 38.8 million beneficiaries of the three social assistance programs.
Social Minister Tri Rismaharini previously reminded beneficiaries not to use social assistance money to buy cigarettes.
This is a direct instruction from President Jokowi.
If a recipient of aid is caught buying cigarettes with welfare money, the government will not hesitate to conduct an assessment.
“We will talk about that, if that happens, then we will do an assessment for aid recipients. Because once again, don’t let this aid be for health but then there is a problem because it is used for cigarettes,” said Risma.
Risma said his party would prepare a tool to find out what aid recipients spent with social assistance money.
“We hope once again because it will affect the plans that the government has carried out, not later by buying cigarettes and then getting sick,” he said.
