Police Chief General Idham Azis released information containing the Banning of the Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI). This controversy also raises the question of whether this information is necessary or not.

Through the information, the Chief of Police asked the community not to participate in the activities of the FPI and to use the symbol of the FPI.

“The community does not participate, directly or indirectly, in the support and facilitation of activities and in the use of symbols and attributes of FPI,” Idham Azis said in the announcement.

Also, if there are people who continue to carry out activities on behalf of the FPI and use the FPI symbol, the police will act.

“That when an act contrary to this information is detected, then each member of the Police must take the necessary actions in accordance with what is established by law, or at the discretion of the Police,” Idham Azis said in the information.
