Police arrested three perpetrators who tortured Slamet Kuncoro (22) to death on New Year’s Eve. The main suspect in the chase case turned out to be a martial arts teacher.
Aspio Tri Utomo, head of the Satreskrim Public Criminal Unit, Jombang Police, said that the main suspect in this case was Awaludin Jamil (26). A resident of Bulak Hamlet, Mojokrapak Village, Tembelang District, this is a martial arts teacher.
He is also the head of a branch of one of the silat schools in the Tembelang district. “Jamil’s suspect is the branch chief and also a martial arts coach,” Utomo said when confirmed by reporters on Saturday (1/2/2021).
He explained that Jamil had a duel with Slamet on a paved road next to his house on New Years Eve, Thursday (12/31) around 11:16 p.m. WIB. The lopsided duel against Jamil knocks the victim unconscious.
Slamet suffered a series of bruises on his body. The victim’s head also hit an asphalt road because he fell during a duel with Jamil.
“The victim finally died at 0200 WIB (Friday, January 1, 2021),” Utomo explained.
Two other suspects who were also arrested by the police participated in the Slamet manhunt. Agus Setiawan (18), a resident of Bulak Hamlet, Mojokrapak Village, became the referee for the duel.
