Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Minister of Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform, Tjahjo Kumolo, had previously revealed that the allocation for state civil servants (ASN), also known as civil servants (PNS) in 2021, is estimated to increase at least Rp. 9 million for the lowest range.
This increase was due to the increase in provisions that had been planned since last year. “So the lowest ASN employees are at least Rp. 9 million to Rp. 10 million,” Tjahjo said at an event held via the Ministry of Religion’s YouTube, quoted on Saturday (2/1/2021).
He said the increased allowances would be enjoyed by around 4.2 million ASN, 1 million government employees with labor agreements (PPPK) consisting of teachers, 260 health workers and 100,000 extension workers.
“Hopefully, through recruiting, a system of merits, assignments, etc., we can track how many ASNs we need,” he explained.
Tjahjo hopes that public officials can donate part of the increased appropriations forever. Currently, the government is still looking for ways that ASN can contribute more to waqf.
“Later we will look for it. From the basic salary and allowances and others, we will appeal it in what way. So that the waqf can move forward,” Tjahjo said.
Unfortunately, the Ministry of Finance said something different. DJA’s Director of Harmonization of Budget Regulations at the Finance Ministry, Didik Kusnaini, emphasized that there is no plan to increase salaries for officials for next year. This is because the government is still focused on managing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“There are no plans to increase the salaries of civil servants (2021),” he said on Saturday (2/1/2021), as quoted.
However, regarding the increase in the performance allowance for ASNs and retirees, he said that the plan exists. Currently, the plan is being discussed internally in the relevant ministries and institutions.
“The drafting of government regulations on salary and pension plans is still in the internal departmental review stage,” he explained.
According to him, in this discussion there are many considerations that need to be studied. One of them is the impact on state finances, not only in the short term but also in the long term.
“Considering many aspects, including the impact on state finances in the short and long term,” Sri Mulyani’s men said.
