jpnn.com, JAKARTA – The Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD admitted that he did not blame the steps of certain groups that established the Islamic Struggle Front (FPI) after the government banned the existence of the Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI) in Indonesia.

“Yes. Establishing anything is possible, as long as it does not violate the law,” Mahfud said in his official statement to the media on Friday (1/1).

The government, Mahfud said, would not take special measures, just to pressure a certain group of organizers with the acronym FPI.

“Establish the Islamic Enforcement Front can, the Muslim Women’s Front can, the Knowledge Guard Forum can also. The government will not take specific measures. Wong, an organization also rises every day,” said the former Chief Constitutional Court (MK).

“There are currently no less than 440,000 mass organizations and associations, that’s fine too,” he said.

Mahfud then spoke of the past case, when an organization dissolved by the government gave birth to a new group.

For example, when Masyumi was dissolved by the government, Parmusi, PPP, DDII, Masyumi Baru, and Masyumi Reborn were born.

“In natural law, what is good will grow, what is not good will wither both the old and the new. Therefore, legally and constitutionally, nothing can forbid people from associating and meeting, as long as they do not violate the law and disturb public order and peace, “explained Mahfud.
