PR DEPOK – The government’s decision to dissolve the mass organization the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) received several responses from the public.
Not only from the local media, several foreign media also highlighted the dissolution of the mass organization founded by Habib Rizieq.
Foreign media outlets such as Straits Times, Channel News Asia and The Star also announced the dissolution.

In their articles, all three outlets describe the FPI as a hard-line Islamic organization.
Other media that also highlighted the dissolution of this mass organization were Nikkei Asia, Al Jazeera and Deutsche Welle.
Several US-based foreign media, including the New York Times, Associated Press and Reuters, also mentioned the government’s ban on FPI activities.

The New York Times even called the FPI a radical Islamic organization that is banned in Indonesia for committing acts of violence and forcing the application of Islamic Sharia law in the country that implements a democratic system.
