Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Covid-19 Working Group spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito said the risk zone for Covid-19 transmission at the district / city level is increasingly shifting towards the orange zone. This indicates that most districts / cities have a moderate risk of covid-19 transmission.

“In the last 10 months, you can see that the risk zone at the regency / city level has shifted towards the orange zone in recent weeks, the red zone tends to fluctuate and the green zone is decreasing,” he said in a press release, Thursday (12/31).

Data from the Covid-19 working group as of December 27 revealed that the majority of districts / cities are in the orange zone, with a total of 377 regions. So the red zone is 76 areas, the yellow zone is 49 areas, and the green zone is only 12 areas.

Additionally, he noted that 27 districts / cities still have more than 1,000 active cases. According to him, this should be a concern for local governments.

He continued that the regencies / cities that have the highest contribution are found on the island of Java. Therefore, it considered that positive cases in Java should be well controlled in order to suppress positive cases nationally.

“Therefore, the leaders of the regions must pay attention to this data and lay the foundations for making pandemic control policies in their respective regions,” he said.

Today, the number of people confirmed as positive for the corona virus according to data from the Covid-19 Working Group has increased by 8,002 cases. This addition brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 735,124 people.

This daily increase is the second time that it exceeds 8 thousand cases. Previously, on Thursday (3/12), daily cases registered a record 8,369 people who tested positive for Covid-19.

Of the accumulated cases, 603,741 of them were declared cured with 6,958 additional patients recovered daily. Meanwhile, the total number of deaths reached 21,944 cases, with a daily death rate of 241 people.
