“The government prohibits the activities of the FPI and will stop any activity that takes place, because the FPI no longer has a legal personality, neither as a mass organization nor as an ordinary organization,” Mahfud said.

Since June 20, 2019, FPI de jure has dissolved as orman. However, as an organization, FPI continues to carry out activities that violate order, security and are contrary to the law such as acts of violence, sweeping unilaterally, provocation and others.

Mahfud said that based on statutory regulations and in accordance with the Constitutional Court decision of December 23, 2014, the government banned the activities of the FPI and would stop any activities of the FPI.

“If there is an organization acting on behalf of the FPI, it is considered non-existent and should be rejected as of today,” Mahfud said.

This was also stated in the joint decision of 6 high-ranking officials in the ministries / institutions, namely Interior Minister Tito Karnavian, Menkumham Yasonna Laoly, Menkominfo Jhonny G Plate, Attorney General Burhanuddin, Head of the National Police , General Idham Azis, and BNPT Chief Komjen Boy Rafli Amar.

However, several former FPI leaders immediately declared the United Islamic Front after the Islamic Defenders Front was declared a banned organization.

Various figures who are the statements of the Islamic Association Front are Habib Abu Fihir Alattas, Abdurrahman Anwar, Ahmad Sabri Lubis, Munarman, Abdul Qadir Aka, Awit Mashuri, Haris Ubaidillah.

Then, Habib Idrus Al Habsyi, Idrus Hasan, Habib Ali Alattas, Tuankota Basalamah, Habib Syafiq Alaydrus, Baharuzaman, Amir Ortega, Syahroji, Waluyo, Joko and M Luthfi.

The Islamic Union Front assessed that the dissolution of the FPI by the government through the SKB violated the constitution and was against the law.

“In essence, the Joint Decree does not have legal force, both from a legality perspective and from a legitimacy perspective,” the FPI statement said.
