jpnn.com, JAKARTA – The Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Azis Syamsuddin, appreciates the swift attitude of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) that revealed the authors of the insulting parody of the song Indonesia Raya.

The PDRM arrested a 40-year-old man who was allegedly an Indonesian citizen (WNI) in Sabah, Malaysia.

“We appreciate it. This is one of the first steps to open the reason for making the video,” Azis said on Thursday (12/31).

Azis asked to wait for the results of further investigations by the Malaysian police into the case.

“Don’t let any outsider want to confront the two countries that have good bilateral relations,” he said.

The Golkar Party politician hopes that the Malaysian Police will quickly coordinate and communicate with the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur so that she can be processed immediately in accordance with the applicable legal mechanisms. Given, the alleged perpetrator is an Indonesian citizen working in Sabah, Malaysia.

“Indonesia respects the legal process of the Malaysian Police. We believe that the Malaysian Police and the Malaysian judicial system will prosecute the perpetrators in accordance with the law,” he said.

However, Azis emphasized that if it was true that the perpetrator was an Indonesian citizen and the video was made in Indonesia, then through a legal process, the Police could take over the case. “Because the incident happened on Indonesian territory,” he said.
