The head of the State Civil Service Agency, Bima Haria Wibisana, revealed that in the future the government will not accept the training of teachers as civil servants, but will only become government employees with an employment contract (PPPK). This has been approved by PAN-RB Minister Tjahjo Kumolo and Mendikbud Nadiem Makarim.
For this reason, the government will increase the PPPK portion, especially for teaching staff or professors. Bima said that starting next year, teacher admissions would transfer to PPPK instead of PNS. Especially for next year there will be an acceptance of 1 million PPPK teacher trainings.
“In the meantime, Mr. Menpan, Mendikbud and we agree that teachers will switch to PPPK, then no longer CPNS. In the future we will not accept teachers as CPNS, but as PPPK,” Bima said at a virtual press conference, the Tuesday (12/29/2020).
He said teachers who are currently civil servants will retain their position until retirement.
“Now officials are going to wait for the retirement age limit, all the new ones will become PPPK,” Bima said.
