Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Ichwan Tuankotta Basalamah’s witness stated Persian Islam Front established to serve the people. He said that its function is the same as that carried out by the Islamic Defenders Front (REIT).
“Yes, a kind of normality too. Their role is the same to serve the people,” Ichwan told CNNIndonesia.com, Wednesday (12/30).
Ichwan assessed that the future work of the Islamic United Front is solely to help the people. He said that social, religious and preaching functions will continue so that people do not lose their services.
“We are part of our work to help people, so that people do not lose their service, be it a social form, a religious form that must continue to function,” said Ichwan.
Ichwan was reluctant to talk about whether the establishment of the Islamic United Front was carried out in response to the ban on the Islamic Defenders Front or not.
Nor did he elaborate on the difference between the FPI and the Islamic United Front that he declared.
“Until now, we have often heard Habib lectures [Rizieq] law? That’s it, “he said.
It is known that Ichwan himself used to be active and was part of the FPI legal team before the government banned these organizations.
Not only that, several former FPI figures also declared the United Islamic Front after the FPI was declared a banned organization. There are the names of former FPI President Shabri Lubis, former FPI General Secretary Munarman and FPI President Abdul Qadir Aka.
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, emphasized that the government officially stipulates that FPI is a banned organization in Indonesia. FPI, he said, no longer has Legal stay both as mass organizations and ordinary organizations.
