JAKARTA – Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Habib Rizieq Shihab spoke about the designation of the FPI by the government as a banned mass organization. FPI is considered to have committed a series of violations that have disturbed public order. This was stated in the joint decision of the Minister of Law and Human Rights, the Minister of the Interior, the Attorney General, the Minister of Communication and Information, the Chief of Police and the BNPT.

Through the Head of FPI’s Legal Entities Team, Sugito Atmo, Habib Rizieq already knew that the government was dissolving FPI. Rizieq asked FPI’s lawyer to challenge the government’s decision before the State Administrative Court (PTUN).

“No problem.” Then we will sue legally because this is a legal process, we will file a PTUN against the decision, “Sugito said in Petamburan on Wednesday (12/30/2020).
He explained that FPI’s lawyer had filed a complaint with the PTUN. “We want to meet with the legal team to prepare the PTUN lawsuit process. As soon as possible we will blow it up,” he said.
Earlier, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD said that currently this mass organization created by Habib Rizieq no longer has a legal position as an organization in the country. Therefore, all FPI activities are prohibited activities and have no legal basis.
