FPI officially disbanded, several Laskar arrested in Petamburan: National Okezone

JAKARTA – Various irregular Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) was arrested by the police, when members of the Central Jakarta and West Jakarta Police were cleaning up the Habib Rizieq Shihab headquarters on Wednesday (12/30/2020).

In monitoring the site, the FPI paramilitary troops were secured while on duty at the FPI secretariat in Jalan Petamburan, Central Jakarta. Apart from that, the police also stopped all the attributes of the FPI, from billboards, banners and stickers stuck in the FPI headquarters.

It is known that the Government decided to ban all the activities of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI). The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, said that the FPI has neither a legal position nor a legal basis, neither as a mass organization nor as an ordinary organization.

For your information, the Government was officially dissolved and stopped all the activities of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) as a community organization (ormas) and organizations in general. The decision to dissolve the FPI was approved by six senior officials from state ministries and institutions.

“The violation of the activities of the FPI was declared in a joint decision of six senior officials of the ministries and institutions,” said the Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD.
