No more teacher appointments via CPNS selection

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The head of the State Civil Service Agency (BKN) Bima Haria Wibisana said that there would be no more teacher admissions through the selection of CPNS.

Bima said the government agreed to transfer teacher appointments through the recruitment of government employees with a work agreement (PPPK).

According to Bima, hiring teachers like PPPK will help the government solve the problem of the national distribution of teachers.

He said that until now the government has always clashed with the system of civil servants to distribute teachers.

“Because if CPNS after they are 4-5 years old, they usually want to move. And that destroys the national teacher distribution system. Twenty years we have tried to solve it, but we did not finish with the PNS system,” he said.

Not only that, other personnel such as doctors, nurses and extension workers will be hired through PPPK.

Bima gave an example, in several developed countries there were more PPPKs than officials.

“Actually, best practices in developed countries do the same as well. The number of PPPKs in developed countries is around 70-80 percent, just 20 percent of civil servants. For matters that are public service , the employment status is PPPK, “Bima said.

In 2021, Bima said the government plans to conduct a PPPK appointment test for one million honorary teachers.

All honorary teachers from public and private schools can follow the PPPK recruitment. He also emphasized that PPPK is equivalent to PNS.

“In the case of teachers with the training of one million PPPK teachers, in the future it seems that the condition of teachers will no longer be opened to become public officials. Everyone will become a government employee with a labor agreement, so you don’t have to bother going from PPPK to PNS, ”he said.
