Commissioner I DPR RI member Muhammad Farhan spoke about the status of the German embassy staff who visited the FPI headquarters in Petamburan, Central Jakarta (Jakpus). Farhan said the staff were registered as a German intelligence employee.

“It turned out that he was not a diplomat, his name was Suzanne Hol, and after being investigated through various sources, he was not an employee of the German Foreign Ministry. But it turns out that he is registered as an employee of the German Intelligence Agency, BND ( Bundesnachrichtendienst), “Farhan said when contacted. Monday (12/28/2020).

The NasDem Party politician claimed to have received this information from a private source. He also invited the public to seek information on German embassy staff from German embassy and immigration officials.

“Yes, a personal source. We also have to equip ourselves with various sources of information I see. You can, gini, You can consult with the Director General of Immigration, consult AHA, on what date will you return to Germany. What’s your name, your passport must be registered, “Farhan said.

I ask first to the German embassy, on what date did you leave Indonesia, then check with immigration what date you left because even though you have a diplomatic passport, it must be registered, “he added.

Farhan explained that he had initially asked Foreign Minister (Menlu) Retno Marsudi to give him the status persona non grata against the staff of the German Embassy. However, it turned out that the German government had already withdrawn staff to Germany.

“So when the problem arose, we had time to ask the Foreign Minister to grant the status or to punish the German diplomat with the status. persona non grata. But it does not work. So the German government immediately withdrew and returned him to Berlin. So this raises a question? Because you can not? “He said he had already committed a serious violation, right?

Additionally, Farhan admitted that he was surprised that German state intelligence officers contacted national parties in Indonesia. He hopes the government will follow up on the incident.

“So this raises a question, someone who is registered as an official in the foreign intelligence agency contacts the institutions and the people of Indonesia,” Farhan said.

“It should be used as a basic material for conducting research,” he continued.

According to Farhan, the government should clarify that the relationship between Indonesia and Germany is transparent. If any indication of German intelligence intervention is found, Indonesia must make a diplomatic protest against Germany.

“In the framework of two things, a clarification ensures that Indonesia and Germany have a transparent relationship and if this is really an indication of the intervention of German intelligence in the internal affairs of Indonesia, then we must present a strong diplomatic protest,” he said. .

In addition, Farhan felt that the government needed to identify the parties that had contacted the German embassy staff. He did not want any spying to take place in Indonesia.

Second, the goal is then to identify who the Indonesians have been in contact with Suzanne Hol and what information has been given to her, that way. Because we don’t want us to turn out to be keeping secret the existence of an accomplice in the activities that concern us. “I have not yet made an accusation, I am only concerned, an indication of espionage for foreign countries,” he said.

“So you have to deal with his accomplices in Indonesia. At least ask for information,” added Farhan.
