Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The National Development Planning Agency (Bappoco) provides the latest news on the Covid-19 vaccine and vaccines. Currently, Indonesia has obtained 168 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine and is working on the rest.
The Acting Deputy for Economic Affairs of the National Development Planning Agency, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, said that according to KCPCEN data, Indonesia has currently obtained 168 million doses of vaccine with confirmed order status. The composition is 116 million Sinovac vaccines that were ordered in 2021 and Novovax up to 52 million in 2021.
“But of course it doesn’t stop there, there is an ordering process [vaksin] Pfizer 45 million doses in 2021, COVAX 12 million vaccines and AstraZeneca around 50 million. If the three brands have requested, there are 275 million doses of the vaccine that can be obtained by the 2021 vaccine, ”he said in a digital press conference on Monday (12/28/2020).
“The vaccine is scheduled to be distributed in early 2021 and then gradually distributed. The Indonesian government ordered various brands that will come in stages.” Amalia said.
“In 2022, the order from Sinovac and Novavax will be around 87 million and in total 2022 there will be 371 million vaccines. That has been planned at KCPCEN.”
The president of Bappoco Suharso Monoarfa added that there are 181 million people who will be vaccinated to achieve herd or group immunity. The amount of vaccine needed is around 370 million doses.
Understandably, most of the Covid-19 vaccines developed require two doses of vaccine per person for the body to be able to fight the Covid-19 infection. Vaccination must also be done repeatedly because the resistance of the vaccine is two years maximum.
