West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said he would not be injected with the COVID-19 Sinovac vaccine bought by the central government. This is because they had injected him with a vaccine that is currently being tested.
As is known, there are two types of COVID-19 vaccines currently in Indonesia. First, the Biofarma vaccine that is being tested, where Ridwan Kamil is a volunteer and the second vaccine is purchased by the central government.
“The vaccines are divided into two, the direct one and the one from Biofarma. I myself after consulting with Pak Doni that the vaccine is not allowed again, I am afraid that it will be mixed with the vaccine that was tested at Biofarma,” said the man who is familiarly called Kang Emil in Makodam III Siliwangi, Jalan Aceh, Kota. Bandung, Monday (12/28/2020).
In return, Kang Emil said, several figures go up to West Java Deputy Governor Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, who will be injected with the vaccines purchased by the central government.
“It is possible that West Java figures will follow the example of the president, starting with the lieutenant governor and other appointed officials, then others will follow,” he said.
Regarding the vaccine itself, Emil said that West Java needed 67 million doses of vaccine. His party has also submitted to the central government on this matter.
In addition, while waiting for the availability of vaccines, the West Java provincial government is preparing other facilities from the injection site to the health workers who will inject the vaccines into the community.
“Regarding vaccines, we have calculated that West Java requires at least 67 million doses of vaccine. Approximately 1,000 public health centers and 90 hospitals are ready, they have been trained in the administration of vaccines that will probably take place in the third week of January, “said Kang Emil.
