“I strongly criticize the video that parodies the Indonesian national anthem. As a child of the nation, I personally feel very offended by the burden of the video parody of the song Indonesia Raya,” LaNyalla said on Monday (12/28/2020).
The parody video was originally uploaded by a YouTube account with the Malaysian flag. The content of the video shows an image of a chicken with the Pancasila symbol on a background color such as the Indonesian flag, Red and white. Not only that, the parody video also shows the animation of two boys urinating. The arrangement of the song is almost the same as that of Indonesia Raya, but the lyrics have changed. The lyrics of the video’s song contain an insult to Indonesia. The lyrics of the song also insult President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the proclaimer and first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soekarno.
“The humiliation shown in the parody video trampled on the honor of the Republic of Indonesia (RI). The perpetrator has also insulted the symbols of our country. I vigorously protested and asked related parties to immediately find and arrest the perpetrators because this concerns the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia. ” LaNyalla said.
The East Java constituency senator also asked the government to send a note of objection to the Malaysian side. LaNyalla said Malaysia should also carry out an investigation considering that the perpetrator carried attributes from a neighboring country.

LaNyalla recalled that such provocative actions could threaten good relations between Indonesia and Malaysia. Therefore, the two countries must work together to investigate the authors of the parody of the song Indonesia Raya.
“If left unchecked, this issue could threaten the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia. Of course, this will have an impact on ASEAN diplomatic affairs,” LaNyalla said.
LaNyalla also thanked the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Kuala Lumpur, who immediately coordinated with the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to track down and prosecute content creators. The Malaysian Embassy in Indonesia has also stated that it will take action if the perpetrator is a citizen.

This former PSSI Ketum asked the Indonesian people not to be provoked. LaNyalla said the perpetrators would be rewarded through the legal process. “I ask the Indonesian people not to be provoked by the actions of the perpetrators who parodied our national anthem. If we are provoked by retaliating, it will achieve the perpetrators’ goal of dividing,” said the Universitas Brawijaya graduate.
