JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – DPD Indonesian Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association (HIPPI) Chairman DKI Jakarta Sarman Simanjorang said that it is possible that the emergency braking policy proposed by the provincial government of DKI Jakarta could frustrate entrepreneurs.
Sarman called on the provincial government of DKI Jakarta to consider the emergency braking policy so as not to overburden commercial players.
“Because 10 months have passed since the business world has been depressed and collapsed, almost frustrated,” Sarman said in a text message on Monday (12/28/2020).
He assessed that the possibility of an emergency brake for the DKI Jakarta area is a bad sign for the business world.

If DKI Pemprov once again tightens large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) and it is interesting emergency break, employers are worried.
He assessed that the implementation of this policy will make economic activity more limited and stagnant.
This is because, with the emergency braking policy, the implementation of restrictions on hours of operation and restrictions on space for people to move will happen again.
“And psychologically it will reduce the sense of optimism among business people,” Sarman said.
With this emergency braking policy, restrictions on operating hours and space for the community will again occur.

Earlier, DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said there was a possibility that the emergency braking policy would be withdrawn if Covid-19 cases in DKI Jakarta continued to rise.
“We will see later in the next few days, after 3 (January 2021) if possible, then the Governor will ask the ranks if there are emergency break (emergency brake), “Ariza said in a voice statement Sunday.
Ariza said the decision would be made later based on the existing facts and data about the Covid-19 outbreak in Jakarta.
It cannot confirm whether the emergency brake will actually be taken because the data related to the spread of Covid-19 in DKI Jakarta is quite dynamic.
“In fact, this is very dynamic, related to data and facts,” Ariza said.
