The government does not bear the cost of the TC of the U19 team from Indonesia to Spain

BOLASPORT.COM – The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) emphasized that there is no longer any responsibility from the Training Center of the Indonesian Under-19 National Team (TC) to Spain.

The Indonesian U-19 squad left for Spain on Saturday, December 26, 2020, despite the fact that the 2021 U-20 World Cup was canceled.

Of course, with the cancellation of the 2021 U-20 World Cup, PSSI will no longer be able to use the government’s financial budget for the Indonesian U-19 national team.

As is known, PSSI was previously assisted by National Pelatnas of Kemenpora in preparation for the 2021 U-20 World Cup.

But because FIFA officially decided that the biennial event was canceled and postponed until 2023.

Then the financial budget came to a halt right after FIFA officially announced the cancellation on Thursday, December 24, 2020.

The secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Gatot S. Dewa Broto, said the funding stopped just before the Indonesian U-19 team left for Spain.

“Because FIFA has postponed it. We understand that PSSI is preparing to go to Spain before the FIFA postponement,” Gatot S Dewa Broto told BolaSport.com on Sunday (12/27/2020).

So, what we want to convey with the existence of this decision, is why the PSSI plan to send a team to Spain means for the period from January to the end of January 31. It cannot be financed by Kemenpora, “he said.

Although the PSSI still sent the Indonesian Under-19 team to Spain, there is nothing to do with Kemenpora anymore.

According to Gatot, all the rules are also clear with the postponement of the U-20 World Cup to 2023, which means that everything is over for the budget of the U-20 World Cup 2021.

“They still insist on leaving, but we won’t be able to pay from January 1 to 31, yes, they can’t. And it is clear. This means that we are still thinking positive, perhaps PSSI still sent yesterday, the assumption is that they have the money, ”said Gatot.

“It depends on the PSSI, but we will not finance it at all, because with the postponement of the U-20 World Cup the budgetary rules are different. The Minister of Youth and Sports has also made a statement related to that.”

Gatot also said that if later, the TC of the Indonesian U19 team in Spain could not survive or was less expensive, Garuda’s squad would have to return to Indonesia.

But if PSSI is still capable and can survive, Kemenpora will support for the good and the future of the Indonesian U19 team.

“But if they don’t have money, they will have to go home. But PSSI certainly does not want to lose face, so they must use existing funds,” he said.

Meanwhile, previously TC planned to go to Spain, PSSI would receive national plate funding of 82 billion IDR and will be paid in early 20201 if you have searched.

But because of the delay, finally the assistance did not exist and PSSI would fully cover the costs of the TC for the Spanish under-19 team.
