Police say referral to a psychiatrist for psychiatric testing.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Molotov cocktail shooter at Al-Istiqomah Mosque, Kapuk, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, with the initials D (56 years old) was referred to a psychiatrist for psychiatric tests. The psychiatric examination was to test whether the assailant threw the Molotov cocktails in a conscious state or not.
“We are awaiting the results of the psychiatrists’ observations, because the right to say mental illness or not is his, of course,” said Polda Metro Public Relations Chief Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus in Jakarta on Sunday (27 / 12).
Yusri said that on Saturday night (12/26), the Kapuk village chief together with the perpetrator’s son had apologized to the Al-Istiqomah Mosque Prosperity Council. The perpetrator’s son said his father had a mental illness.
The case is still being handled by the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police. “We will continue processing as we walk,” Yusri said.
