BANDUNG, KOMPAS.com – Bandung Mayor Oded M Danial reviewed a number of spots in Bandung that were flooded during heavy rains on Thursday (12/24/2020), including Jalan Dr. Djundjunan or Jalan Pasteur and Jalan Pagarsih.
Oded said the water toll roads at Jalan Pasteur and Jalan Pagarsih, which were built under the leadership of former Bandung mayor Ridwan Kamil, were not optimal because the water discharge was too great.
“If it rains with a water discharge that is not too big, I think it is good, so because the water discharge is too big it will flood,” Oded said of Jalan Pasteur, on Friday (12/25/2020 ).
In addition, Oded added, his party will add other methods and technologies to deal with the floods in Bandung.

“We are working with PU. Besides the water toll, we are also working on internal additives. We continue to make efforts to deal with this flood. We will continue to do so with various methods,” he said.
Relocation
Meanwhile, Oded also provided relocation options for four heads of households whose houses were eroded by the river due to yesterday’s heavy rains.
“For the buildings that have eroded, we also have no budget (to repair). We offer the four families to move into flats and one KK is ready to move into the flat. I hope the community will follow the government’s lead so they don’t face something like that, “he said.
Oded said that most of the houses on the riverside violated the rules.
“That can’t be,” he said.
Oded hopes that the people living along the river will be organized by the Bandung city government so that there are no more incidents of eroded houses.

“If we want to be ideal, they (who live along the river) will be fixed and moved. As a government, we have to prepare a place for them, this is what we have to keep trying. Second, it is offering public awareness of the 4 families reluctantly to move in. Infrastructure is provided from the government, but from the other side there is also a lack of public awareness, “he said.
Oded also appealed to the Bandung people who live along the river to always be vigilant in the middle of the rainy season.
“The public must be vigilant and careful when facing this rainy season, especially on the riverbanks,” he said.
