GenPI.co – Indonesian Police Watch (IPW) Presidium Chairman Neta S Pane revealed that the Palace is currently considering two names of candidates for the Chief of the National Police to replace General Idham Azis.
Neta estimates that in mid-January 2021, one of the two names of the candidates for head of the National Police has been sent to Commission III of the DPR for a suitability test.

“IPW received this information, but we also remind the court that at least 20 days before National Police Chief Idham Azis retires, the name of his replacement candidate may be processed,” Neta said on Saturday ( 12/19).
He hopes that the process of appointing the Chief of the National Police will continue to follow standard procedures, that is, in two directions.
First, the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) proposes the names of possible candidates for the president. Later, the Polri (Wanjakti) Board of High Ranks and Ranks also proposed the names of possible candidates to the president.

“It is not like when Idham Azis became chief of police, who did not go through the Wanjakti process. The name of Idham Azis was obtained by the president only through a proposal from Kompolnas,” he explained.
