TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The head of the Komnas HAM Investigation Team, Choirul Anam, said that he had sent a letter to the Chief of Criminal Investigation, Commissioner General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, regarding the incident of the death of 6 members of the FPI Laskar.
“The Investigation Team of the National Human Rights Commission sent a letter to the Chief of the Criminal Police and Criminal Investigation to obtain information,” Anam said in a written statement on Sunday, December 20, 2020.
Anam said that Komnas HAM wanted to request information and various information contained in the car involved in the shooting between the police and the FPI. “This request for information when viewing and examining the car directly,” he said.
Anam hopes that the recovery and consultations can be carried out according to schedule.
Komnas HAM Commissioner Beka Ulung Hapsara said earlier that his group would focus on observing the physical condition of the vehicle, including bullet holes in the car.
In the incident, three cars participated in the chase and the shooting. Two cars were uploaded by FPI leader Rizieq Shihab, namely the Toyota Avanza and the Chevrolet Spin. Meanwhile, a car that the police was driving was the Toyota Avanza. Six FPI members who were in the Chevrolet Spin car were killed in this incident.
Based on the police reconstruction of the incident, the Chevrolet Spin car had been involved in a shootout with the police at Jalan International Karawang Barat. The chase ended at the Jakarta-Cikampek KM 50 toll road rest area. Two members of the FPI were suspected of having been injured, while four others were arrested. When they were about to be taken to Polda Metro Jaya, according to the police, the four members of the FPI resisted and were shot.
