Bank Indonesia (BI) reminded people who still had rupee banknotes issued in 1968, 1975 and 1977 to change their money immediately. This is because all six tickets in the year of issue will no longer be valid at the end of this year.

BI Communication Department Executive Director Erwin Haryono said that currency exchange in rupees could be done at the closest BI office in Indonesia until the deadline of December 28, 2020.

“Six banknotes have been revoked and withdrawn from circulation as set out in Bank Indonesia Board of Directors Decree No. 20/54 / KEP / DIR dated March 4, 1998 and can still be exchanged until that period “he said in a press release written on Sunday (12/19/2020).

The currency exchange in rupees that has been revoked and withdrawn from circulation is open every Monday to Friday, from 08.00 to 11.30, local time, except from December 24 to 25, 2020 according to the BI operational schedule that applies towards Christmas and the end of 2020.

“BI routinely revokes and withdraws the rupee currency. This is done considering, among other things, the period of money circulation, the existence of new money issues and the development of security features on the banknotes,” he explained.

The following is a list of the rupee currency that will no longer be sold at the end of 2020:
