YAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The lawyer for the Islamic Defenders Front, Aziz Yanuar, spoke about 37 members of the FPI suspected of being involved in criminal acts of terrorism.
According to him, FPI is an organization committed to the humanitarian sector. He also said that all FPI members are prohibited from owning and using firearms.
“Even on the membership card, it is forbidden to use or possess firearms,” Aziz said in the video.

Aziz added that if these findings are true, the government cannot generalize about the existence of the FPI.
“Even if it is true that someone is involved, you cannot say and generalize.”
“For example, there is a party where many members are involved in criminal acts of corruption. Already suspected, already convicted. We are not saying that it is part of the party’s political line,” he said.
Earlier, Kompolnas said that there were 37 FPI members who were reportedly involved in terrorist networks in Indonesia.
