jpnn.com, PONTIANAK – Pemuda with the origin of RDS (21), a resident of Jalan Tanjung Raya II, sub-district of East Pontianak, attacked the police who tried to disperse the crowd of the 1812 action in Pontianak, West Kalimantan (Kalbar).

“When the police officers dispersed the mass of action on Friday (12/18) yesterday, two Pontianak Police officers received unpleasant treatment, in the form of attacks and ill-treatment,” said the Chief of Public Relations of the Police West Kalimantan Regional, Kombes Pol Donny Charles Go, on Saturday (12/19).

The two police officers who are victims are currently being treated at Bhayangkara Hospital.

Donny added that the chronology began with the massive burning of tires on the roads of the East Pontianak area, precisely at the Jalan Tanjung Raya junction.

“Because the action caused traffic obstruction and could be a means of provocation, the agents who were not far from the scene made efforts to extinguish and disperse the masses,” he said.

However, he went on, when the officers tried to put out the fire, they were suddenly attacked in the form of punches, kicked with blunt objects.

“The victim’s condition has bruises on various parts of the body,” Donny said.

“Currently, the perpetrators of the beatings and attacks have been secured by officers of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the West Kalimantan Regional Police either at night or shortly after the incident,” he said.
