Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Field coordinator Demo 1812 Rizal Kobar said that he would be arrested by the police. This was in the wake of an action demanding the release of the leader of the FPI. Rizieq Shihab which took place amid the corona virus pandemic.

He received this news by telephone shortly after police forcibly dispersed the 1812 protest in the area of the statue of Arjuna Wiwaha, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, central Jakarta. However, he did not mention who gave the information.

Rizal asked if the police wanted to arrest him. However, he warned that it would be illegal if his innocence was proven.

“They called me, they will arrest me. Yes, please, if you want to be arrested if I’m wrong, if I’m right, it’s against the law,” Rizal told reporters at al-Makmur mosque, Tanah Abang, central Jakarta, on Friday (12/18).

He broadcast this statement at a press conference in response to police efforts to forcibly disperse the 1812 protest around the Horse Statue area.

Rizal had asked the masses to disperse as early as 2:00 pm WIB, when he learned that the police had taken the forced dispersal.

He is also willing to be responsible for various people who were arrested and secured during the dispersal process.

“Before, I asked my friends to leave and go back to their respective homes, around 2:00 pm. There I reminded them to disband,” he said.

Meanwhile, Polda Metro’s Head of Public Relations Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said his party opened the opportunity to catch Korlap Aksi 1812 regarding violations of health protocols.

Still, Yusri said, his party needs to dig a little deeper first to make sure there are any rules that are violated.

“Later we will carry out an examination of whether it may be subject to Law Number 6 of 2018 or KHUP,” Yusri told reporters on Friday (12/18).
