JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The field coordinator (Korlap) for the 1812 Action, Rijal Kobar, said that he had asked the masses to disperse from the Medan Merdeka area in central Jakarta.
“Earlier, around 2 pm WIB, I asked my friends to resign and go back to their respective homes,” Rijal told reporters in Tanah Abang on Friday (12/18/2020).

Rijal lamented the action of the joint apparatus that tried to disperse the masses in 1812.
“The problem is that I have to assume the responsibility of dispersing the masses. Yes, it cannot. Because everything is divided. This action is really a relief,” said Rijal.

The police did not give permission for the demonstration. The reason is that it is currently still in the Covid-19 pandemic and people are prohibited from meeting.
The demonstration around the horse statue at Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat was held by a mass of supporters of the leader of the FPI, Rizieq Shihab, who called themselves the National Anti-Communist Alliance (ANAK) NKRI.
They demanded the disclosure of the shooting of six members of the FPI by the police. They also demanded the release of Rizieq Shihab, who is now being detained by the police at Polda Metro Jaya in connection with the crowd case in Petamburan, Jakarta.
