Sahrul Gunawan ill after winning Pilkada, lying weak in hospital

Sahrul Gunawan is running as Bandung’s deputy regent candidate for this year’s regional elections. Based on the results of a quick count, Sahrul Gunawan and his running mate, Regent candidate Dadang Supriatna, also managed to win.

This pair was superior with 56.53 percent of the votes from the QC Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI). The number 3 candidate pair is the most superior of their two rivals, Kurnia Agustina-Usman Sayogi with 30.77 percent and Yena Ma’soem-Atep with 12.70 percent.

However, Sahrul Gunawan has not been seen since a week after the election of the Bandung Regency regional head due to illness, mother. The news that he had fallen ill was transmitted by Sahrul Gunawan himself through a video uploaded to his Instagram account @sahrulgunawanofficial on Saturday, December 12, 2020. He thanked their support and promised to show the hope for change desired by the residents of Bandung Regency.


“Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, to all Bandung Regency residents, thank you for your support. Kang Dadang Supriatna and Insya Allah, Insya Allah, will demonstrate the hope for change desired by the Bandung Regency residents,” Sahrul Gunawan said.

“God willing, we will work our best and as much as possible in accordance with our common aspirations,” Sahrul Gunawan said.

Sahrul later admitted that he was not in good health. Not forgetting, he also asked the community to pray for him so that he could recover quickly and be active as before.

“Please pray that I do not feel well. May Allaah eliminate disease and we all enjoy good health. Thank you,” Sahrul Gunawan said.

Until now, Thursday (12/17/2020), Sahrul Gunawan is still seen in the hospital. He uploaded a selfie of himself lying down and had a nasal cannula in his nose.
