Budi Karya and Echelon I from the Ministry of Transport start using electric cars for service vehicles

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Minister of Transport, Budi Karya Sumadi, has started using electric cars as his official daily vehicle.

Not only Budi, Echelon I officials of the Ministry of Transport (Kemenhub) also get the same official vehicle facilities.

Budi immediately tried to drive the electric car, Hyundai’s white label, registration RI 35 at the Gambir station in central Jakarta.

“I am happy that our plan to use official vehicles with electric vehicles today can be realized today,” he said, on Wednesday (12/16/2020).

The former chairman director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) also thanked his ministry officials who were willing to start using electric cars as official vehicles.

According to him, this can help reduce the carbon emission levels of oil-fueled vehicles.

The plan is that by the end of 2021, the Ministry of Transport will acquire 100 electric vehicles.

“It will be used for level I and II officials within the Ministry of Transport,” Budi said.

Budi also invited other agencies to use electric vehicles as operational vehicles.

Not only that, Budi also continues to encourage the use of electric vehicles for public transportation, such as special rental transportation, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), and others.

“In short, electric vehicles are vehicles of the future that can make this land, Indonesia, the city of Jakarta more concern to the environment, “he said.
