JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV- Medical staff that is a member of the Indonesian Physicians Association (IDI) declared their commitment to be the first target to be vaccinated against Covid-19, if President Jokowi also declared that he was ready to be the first to be vaccinated.

“If the president says he is ready to be the first part of the injection, IDI is also willing to be one of the first to be injected,” said the president of the Indonesian Physicians Association (IDI), Daeng M Faqih, in an online press release in Jakarta on Monday (12/14).

Daeng stated that IDI always supports the vaccination program that the government will implement to control the transmission of Covid-19. Doctors who are members of the IDI are ready to receive the first injection of the vaccine whose use of the vaccine has received permission from the Food and Drug Supervision Agency (BPOM).

Previously when you were interviewed Compass TV, Daeng emphasized that no one should want to be vaccinated. “Because vaccines are our capital. We have had a vaccine program for a long time. Historically we are the generation that vaccines may have saved,” he said.

It’s just that Daeng asked for everything according to the procedure set out by the World Health Organization (WHO), that is, the permission of the Food and Drug Supervision Agency (BPOM). “Let’s let BPOM work,” he added. Because it applies all over the world.

Daeng also clarified the news by stating that his organization rejected Covid-19 vaccination, because the news was deemed to affect public confidence in the government’s vaccination program.
