Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Notary Komnas HAM Beka Ulung Hapsara confirmed the findings of new evidence in the form of projectiles related to police clashes with members of the Islamic Defenders Front (Frente del Frente de Defensores Islámicos)REIT) at kilometer 50 of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road on Monday (12/7).
“(Sample evidence) projectiles and so on,” Beka said after asking Jakarta Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran at Komnas HAM, Central Jakarta for information on Monday (12/14).
On that occasion, Beka also explained the results of the investigation of the Metro Jaya Police Chief, Inspector General Fadil Imran, who allegedly provided various information and data related to the confrontation.
Fadil, he said, also relayed the measures that were taken in the incident that killed the six members of the FPI army.
“Deliver the steps that Polda has taken after the incident. So this is an autopsy, then ballistics evidence. That was relayed by the Chief of Police,” he said.
Based on this information, Komnas HAM and the police agreed to carry out further investigations based on the information provided by Fadil.
He said that if the police found any new evidence, it would be confirmed that they would immediately hand it over to Komnas HAM for investigation purposes.
“The police chief conveyed the frankness of the police if any evidence was found, evidence and this will be followed up by Komnas HAM soon,” he said.
Beka confirmed that more information and investigations on the police are likely to take place next week. It’s just that in this subpoena his party did not focus on Fadil as the regional police chief, anyone could comply with the subpoena as long as it was related to the case.
“There will be an examination, whether he will be assisted by the regional police chief or his staff. We don’t know yet. It depends on the needs of Komnas HAM,” he said.
Previously, six members of the FPI were reportedly killed by police officers. Several parties, including human rights NGOs, suspect extrajudicial executions in the incident.
Meanwhile, police said the shooting was carried out in self-defense. Police claim that the first shots came from the FPI.
