The Chairman of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Medical Association (PB IDI), Daeng M Faqih, spoke about the news that PB IDI refused to accept the Corona vaccine. It was emphasized that the news was false, PB IDI was ready to be the first to be injected with the Corona vaccine after the President also received the vaccine.
“If the president says that the president is ready to be the first party to be vaccinated, PB IDI can also be considered a role model in the health sector, we are also willing to be one of the first to be injected,” Daeng said at a press conference via PB’s YouTube channel. Daeng emphasized the preparation of PB IDI as a step to build public confidence in vaccines. Daeng explained that the COVID-19 vaccine is one of several treatments for the Corona pandemic.
It is hoped that with the COVID-19 vaccine, the growing number of Corona cases in Indonesia can be suppressed immediately. Furthermore, there have been more than 200 healthcare workers, whom he said had died since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out.
“I, as president, want the injection of the vaccine for the first time,” he said.
“We are confident that we will give more confidence to the public in the vaccination process,” he explained.
Daeng also recommended to the public to adhere to the COVID-19 protocol even though they have been vaccinated. Daeng also mentioned that ensuring that the physical condition remains in shape is no less important before receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
“For the antibodies to form well, after vaccination, the condition is that our bodies are healthy and our nutrition is good,” he concluded.
