Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
President General of the Front of Islamic Defenders (REIT) Ahmad Shabri Lubis and Panglima Warriors Defender of Islam (LPI) Maman Suryadi visited Polda Metro Jaya, Monday (12/14). They will undergo an examination on the condition of the suspect.
Shabri uploaded her trip to Polda Metro Jaya with Maman and the legal team via the YouTube channel Front TV, around 09.00 WIB.
“Today we will arrive at Polda Metro Jaya to be examined as a suspect in the case of the Maulid Nabi crowd in Petamburan,” Sobri said in the video vlog that was uploaded on Monday (12/14).
Police have named Shabri and Maman as crowd suspects in Petamburan following the determination of FPI High Priest Rizieq Shihab on Thursday (12/10) with three criminal articles.
Shabri and Maman went to the Regional Police after three other suspects underwent their previous examinations on Sunday (12/13). However, the police did not detain the three while the investigation process continued.
Police named six suspects in connection with the crowd during the Prophet’s birthday event in Petamburan, central Jakarta, four days after Rizieq’s return on November 10. Apart from Rizieq, Shabri and Maman, the other three suspects were Haris Ubaidillah as Head of the Event Committee, Ali Bin Alwi Alatas as Secretary of the Event and Idrus as Head of the Event Section.
The six suspects charged under article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 on Sanitary Quarantine with the threat of one year in prison.
Specifically for Rizieq, the police also charged the leader of the FPI with two other articles, namely article 160 of the Penal Code on Sedition with the threat of six years in prison and article 216 regarding defying the government with a maximum penalty of four months and two weeks in prison.
The police officially detained Rizieq after being questioned on Saturday (12/12) for approximately 14 hours at Polda Metro Jaya. Rizieq plans to be detained for 20 days at the Regional Police in order to investigate the Petamburan crowd case.
“For the next 20 days from December 12, 2020 to December 31, 2020,” said the Chief of Public Relations of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono at a press conference on Sunday (12/13) in the morning.
