KOMPAS.com – The founder of the Islamic Boarding School Asshiddiqiyah (Ponpes) Jakarta, Kiai Noer Muhammad Iskandar, passed away on Sunday (12/13/2020) at 1:43 p.m. WIB.
The deceased was a student from the Islamic boarding school of Lirboyo who was able to conquer the capital city of Jakarta by establishing the Islamic boarding school Asshiddiqiyah, Kedoya, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta.
In the late 1970s, very few Santri dared to emigrate to Jakarta with all their tough, modernist, and cosmopolitan characters.

Kiai Noer, as he often calls him, was able to conquer Jakarta with knowledge of the religion of the Pesantren.
The knowledge of the Islamic boarding schools of Kiai Noer is transmitted in a modern and metropolitan way, so that the vocabulary of “santri” is very similar in Jakarta.
“Young people in Jakarta already want to study in Islamic boarding schools, both religious and general knowledge,” Ali Masykur Musa (Cak Ali) said in a written statement on Sunday.

In addition, Cak Ali said, Kiai Noer is a figure who can break the boundaries of the relationship between moderate and hardline Islamic figures, even cultural groups and artists have become partners of the da’wah.
The late Gus Dur is his best friend in politics, just as Rhoma Irama is a good friend between artists and millennials.
Even within the political community, Kiai Noer was able to establish warm relations with the government and between politics.
So, Cak Ali said, Kyai Noer could be accepted by all levels of society.
