Chelsea failed to score points when they were defeated by Everton in Week 12 of the Premier League. The result made Frank Lampard send a satire to Juergen Klopp.

Chelsea lost on a visit to Goodison Park, Liverpool, England on Sunday (12/13/2020) at the morning WIB. Gylfi Sigurdsson’s penalty goal forced the Blues to fall 0-1.

The defeat prompted Lampard to send a hint to Klopp. The Liverpool manager had previously mentioned that Chelsea were a strong candidate to win the league this season.

Klopp’s statement is based on the quality of the Chelsea squad, who have just spent a lot on the transfer market. In fact, the London giants have brought in many top-tier players, from Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva.

“If I watch football games now, then Chelsea seems like a favorite to me,” Klopp told Sky Sports. “They have the biggest squad, great players who are doing very well after a bad start,” said the current champion’s coach.

And the defeat left Lampard “armed” to show that Klopp’s words were not true. The English manager argued that the Chelsea squad was also inhabited by many young players, unlike Liverpool, whose majority squad had previously won the Premier League and the Champions League.

“I keep reading, how can we have the strongest team in the league? I don’t get it,” Lampard said.

“The teams around us have titles and forwards who can score 30 goals every year, as well as players who have won the Champions League.”

“We have several who have also won titles, but there are also some who are new to the Premier League and are still young. We are still working and it could give results like this. I’m not happy with that, but it can happen,” he explained.

Everton’s defeat has kept Chelsea in third place in the Premier League standings, with 22 points from 12 games. Blue is still behind Liverpool, who are in second place with 24 points, alongside Tottenham Hotspur.
