KPK investigates possible flow of bribery money from the social minister to the PDIP

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to unearth information about the flow of social assistance bribes (bansos) that trapped the Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P Batubara.

One of the information that the investigators of the anti-corruption agency are extracting is about the possibility of the flow of bribes to the PDI-P.

This was said by the interim KPK spokesman, Ali Fikri, when he was confirmed on the progress of the investigation into the corruption case that trapped one of the elite members of the ruling political party.

“Related to flow [ke partai] Of course, this is the investigative material that will continue to be extracted and confirmed from the witnesses who will be summoned and questioned by the investigation team, ”said Ali Fikri, on Saturday (12/12/2020).

Ali stressed that the cases handled by the KPK were purely police. According to the man who handled the Jakarta Bay Recovery bribery case, this case was unrelated to the perpetrator’s socio-political background.

“We need to emphasize that the issues dealt with by the KPK are purely for law enforcement and not a matter related to the social and political background of the perpetrators,” Ali said.

Ali also explained that the initial evidence in this case was that there were allegations of bribery received by parties who had been identified as suspects.

“The initial evidence in this case is that there are complaints of money received by parties that have been named as alleged recipients,” he said.

On the other hand, the general secretary (Sekjen) of the PDI Perjuangan Hasto Kristiyanto, in an official statement in response to the appointment of a suspect, one of his main cadres recently, confirmed that the PDIP will support the measures to eradicate the corruption of the KPK.

Previously, the KPK named the Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari Peter Batubara, and four other bribery suspects related to the social assistance program for the management of the corona virus (Covid-19).

The other four suspects in this case are, the officials who assume the commitment in the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) Matheus Joko Santoso and Adi Wahyono, as well as Ardian IM and Harry Sidabuke as private parties.

As recipients, Juliari, Adi and Matheus were accused of Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 modified by Law Number 20 of 2001 relative to the Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st KUHP.

Meanwhile, as the giver, Ardian and Harry are suspected of violating article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or article 5 paragraph (1) letter b or article 13 of Law No. 31 of 1999, as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 regarding the Eradication of Corruption.
