Jusuf Kalla openly admits that he did not agree with Jokowi on this matter

POTENSIBUSNIS – Muhammad Jusuf Kalla (JK) openly admitted that he was never in line with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla admitted that he had come into conflict with the nominations of regional heads.

This happened during the DKI Jakarta Governor (Pilgub) elections several years ago.
At the time, Jusuf Kalla admitted that he supported Anies Baswedan, who was running for governor of DKI Jakarta.

According to him, he had his own opinion at the time. He also assessed that if Basuki Tjahja Purnama or Ahok were elected as governor of DKI Jakarta, the situation in the capital would not be conducive and would have an impact on the leadership of President Jokowi.



“I know Pak Anies and I support him to be governor, it’s true. I’m sorry, if Ahok wins at that time, there will be a riot and it will have an impact on President Jokowi,” JK said in a YouTube video quoted on Tuesday 8 December 2020.

“Everyone has different political opinions. I have to agree to my assignment, but that day I had a different (political) vision than Pak Jokowi, “he continued.

Jusuf Kalla said that at the time people saw as if they were rebelling against President Jokowi.
