JAKARTA – Polda Metro Jaya named the Grand Imam of the Front of Islamic Defenders (FPI) Habib Rizieq Shihab as a suspect related to the mob case in Petamburan in central Jakarta. There are two articles imposed on Habib Rizieq, namely articles 160 and 216 of the Penal Code.

In response to this, the Deputy Secretary General of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Aziz Yanuar, said that his party would first coordinate with Habib Rizieq Shihab regarding the appointment of the Grand Imam of the FPI as a suspect.

According to him, he would coordinate with Habib Rizieq Shihab and five other suspects to determine what legal action would be taken in the future. In particular, with regard to the appointment of Habib Rizieq as a suspect.

However, it considered that the determination of Habib Rizieq Shibab and five other people as suspects was an act of criminalization and injustice against the ulama. Nor has he been able to say much about the suspect’s determination.

Meanwhile, Habib Rizieq Shihab was named a suspect in the alleged sanitary quarantine violation during his son’s celebration crowd in Petamburan, Tanah Abang, central Jakarta some time ago. In addition to Habib Rizieq, five other people were also named suspects.
