JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com– The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has denied having issued an investigation order for alleged corruption in the acquisition of the Covid-19 rapid test tool through PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RIN) by Erick Thohir as Minister of State-Owned Companies (BUMN).

In the photo received by Kompas.com, the “letter” signed by KPK President Firli Bahuri on December 2, 2020 contains orders for four investigators to carry out an investigation.

“After we verified, based on the information we received, the KPK never issued the letter,” Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri said when confirmed on Thursday (10/12/2020).

Ali also appealed to the public to be aware of the parties acting on behalf of the KPK.

Regional heads and regional officials are also urged to be on the lookout for parties claiming to be KPK research directors, either by phone or WhatsApp, requesting to deposit a certain amount of money into a certain bank account.

“We make sure that the Investigation Director of the Corruption Eradication Commission never contacts these other parties outside of the agency’s interests,” Ali said.

The KPK also urges local governments, regional companies and other government agencies to always be wary of parties that claim to be the Corruption Eradication Commission or appear to be a branch of the Corruption Eradication Commission.
